Academic Senate

Council on Research

To: Academic Senate Faculty

Dear Colleagues:

The UCLA Academic Senate’s Council on Research (COR) is pleased to announce a second opportunity to submit an application for the Research Allowance Program (RAP) to receive research funding during the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The COR will open an additional cycle of applications beginning November 19, 2025 , and invites Academic Senate faculty who have not been awarded a 2025-26 RAP grant to apply for up to $5,000 in research funds.

Research Allowance Program

The COR Research Allowance Program provides financial support for research-related activities of Senate faculty at UCLA. The maximum request amount per faculty member is $5,000 per funding cycle (fiscal year). The COR will determine the amount and the number of grants funded depending on available resources.

Application Deadline
The application submission deadline is Monday, December 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., PST . Please plan to submit an application early to avoid unexpected last-minute delays as COR will not consider late submissions regardless of circumstances.

Important Information

  1. Review the program guidelines and application.
  2. Each eligible Senate faculty member may submit only one application per fiscal year. Faculty who have already been awarded a RAP grant for 2025-26 are not eligible to apply again during this fall 2025 cycle.
  3. Grant funds are valid January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026. Grant recipients must spend funds by December 31, 2026. No exceptions.
  4. All unexpended funds must be returned to the Academic Senate at the end of the grant period. No extensions will be available under any circumstances.
  5. All of the restrictions governing allowable and non-allowable expenses per university policy apply to this program. Details are on the COR Faculty Grants Program web page.

We welcome you to submit a RAP application and wish you continued success with your research endeavors.

Sincerely,

Dimitri Shlyakhtenko
