Chancellor’s Listening Exercise with Senate Faculty on April 18

Academic Senate

To: Academic Senate Faculty

Dear Colleagues:

Chancellor Julio Frenk and I are pleased to invite you to join a Listening Exercise with Senate Faculty. This event will take place on Friday, April 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. via Zoom.

We encourage you to register now to attend. Please RSVP by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 15. Only Senate faculty members who RSVP by the deadline will be admitted into the Zoom meeting.

In the first month into his tenure, Chancellor Frenk launched the UCLA Connects: Listening Exercise with the aim of meeting with and learning from members of every school and unit at UCLA, as well as members of the wider Bruin family. Many of you may have attended one of these school or division-based events for staff and faculty. Chancellor Frenk hopes to hear what Senate faculty have to say about issues that matter to us. The insights that emerge from these discussions will help him shape a collective vision for UCLA’s future that he will share at his inauguration on June 5.

We hope to hear from as many of you as possible. We invite you to bring questions and comments with you to the event.

This is an important moment for you to share your priorities, hopes and aspirations for Senate faculty — and all of UCLA — with our new chancellor. I hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

Kathy Bawn
Chair, Academic Senate
