To: Academic Senate Faculty
Dear Colleagues:
As mentioned in recent Senate newsletters, we ask you to complete two brief surveys:
One survey seeks further details on the “red tape” (i.e., bureaucracy) that faculty have encountered at UCLA. If you haven’t already, we ask you to take a few moments to complete this short (three questions), anonymous Red-Tape Survey from which the Senate can identify actionable items.
The second survey is about Academic Senate “town hall” events (August 14 - federal funding and other issues via Zoom, October 28 - budget with VC/CFO Agostini in person, December 4 - Q&A with Chancellor Frenk in person) during fall 2025. Whether you attended any of these events or not, we ask you take a few minutes to fill out this brief, anonymous Senate Town Halls Survey that will help guide our activities throughout the remainder of the academic year.
We recommend using a computer browser to complete the survey for best display.
Thank you for taking time during the busy start of the winter quarter to complete these surveys by 11:59 p.m. PT on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Best,
Megan McEvoy
Chair, UCLA Academic Senate
