Dear Colleagues:
The final meeting of the 2023–2024 Legislative Assembly will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 2–4 p.m. via Zoom. The agenda is available now on the Legislative Assembly Agenda page.
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Darnell Hunt and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Monroe Gorden will provide updates.
Members will vote on bylaw and regulation revisions proposed by various schools and departments and for At-Large Members of the Executive Board.
The following seven Academic Senate members are candidates for five available At-Large seats:
- Nicholas Brecha, Neurobiology, Ophthalmology, Medicine-Gastroenterology
- Brandon Koretz, Medicine-Geriatrics
- Purnima Mankekar, Gender Studies, Anthropology, Asian American Studies
- Tara Peris, Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences
- Catherine Sugar, Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences
- Kabir Yadav, Harbor/UCLA Emergency Medicine
- Robert Zeithammer, Management
Each department and School has formal voting representation (PDF) to the Assembly. Additionally, only members of the Academic Senate and certified student representative observers may attend. In the spirit of shared governance, I encourage you to do so.
To ensure the integrity and security of the meeting, it is important for all non-representative attendees to RSVP via the Google Form. Details for Zoom will be provided to those who RSVP by 12 p.m. PST on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
