Members of the Los Angeles Division of the Academic Senate
In accordance with UCLA Academic Senate Bylaws 140 and 155, the following constitutes a distribution by electronic mail of a “Notification of Actions” taken at the Thursday, November 13, 2025, Legislative Assembly. Action items are defined as “any item on the Legislative Assembly agenda, including items on the consent calendar, requiring a vote of approval.”
Materials related to the November 13, 2025, meeting of the Legislative Assembly are available on the Legislative Assembly website.
Any petition by at least one-third of the voting members of the Legislative Assembly on any actions taken by the Legislative Assembly must be received in writing by the Academic Senate Chair within 10 instructional days from the date of distribution of this “Notification of Actions” memorandum. For the November 13, meeting, that date is December 2, 2025.
Minutes become official when the Legislative Assembly approves the document at the subsequent Legislative Assembly meeting. This notification is not a substitute for or an alteration of the requirement to record action items in the meeting minutes.

- Approval of Draft Minutes:
The Legislative Assembly approved unanimously the draft minutes of the September 30, 2025, special meeting as part of the Consent Calendar. - The Legislative Assembly approved unanimously the following items as part of the Consent Calendar:

• Enactment of Bylaw 16 (Immediate Past Chair)
• Amendment to Bylaw 25 (Secretary) and Repeal of Bylaw 32 (Elections Commissioner)
• Amendment to Bylaw 45 (Committees)
• Amendment to Bylaw 75.3 (Council on Research)
• Amendment to Bylaw 80.2.B (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
• Amendment to Bylaws 150 (Elections) and 155 (Electronic Ballots on Issues)

Legislative Assembly members voted via the Academic Senate Data Management System on the proposal to discontinue the Design Media Arts BA and establish BAs in Games, Design, and Computational Art. The Legislative Assembly voted 116 Approve, 1 Oppose, and 14 eligible members abstained. This proposal included divisional bylaws and thus required a 2/3 affirmative vote of 131 eligible voting members present for approval. As 88% of eligible members present voted in favor, the Legislative Assembly approved this proposal. - Reaffirmation of the Endorsement of “The Defense of the University”
Statement
Legislative Assembly members voted via the Academic Senate Data Management System on the Statement from the Academic Council, “The Defense of the University.” The Legislative Assembly received a total of 116 votes cast: 113 Approve, 3 Oppose. A majority of votes cast (97%) were to Approve this Statement. - Resolution on Financial Transparency and the Restoration of Shared
Governance in Budget Planning
Legislative Assembly members voted via the Academic Senate Data Management System on the Resolution on Financial Transparency and the Restoration of Shared Governance in Budget Planning. The Legislative Assembly received a total of 116 votes cast: 115 Approve, 1 Oppose. This Resolution required a majority of votes cast by present members to be
approved. [AIPSC (2nd ed.) 5.1]. A majority of votes cast (99%) were to Approve this Resolution. - Resolution on Information Technology Accountability, Transparency, and
Shared Governance
Legislative Assembly members voted via the Academic Senate Data Management System on the Resolution on Information Technology Accountability, Transparency, and Shared Governance. The Legislative Assembly received a total of 106 votes cast: 104 Approve, 2 Oppose. This Resolution required a majority of votes cast by present members to be approved. [AIPSC (2nd ed.) 5.1]. A majority of votes cast (98%) were to Approve this Resolution.
