To: Members of the Los Angeles Division of the Academic Senate

Dear Colleagues:

The first regular meeting of the 2026-2027 Legislative Assembly will take place in person on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. in the California NanoSystems Institute Auditorium. The agenda is available now on the Legislative Assembly Agenda page.

Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities Roger Wakimoto will offer remarks and updates. Legislative Assembly members will vote on two department proposals: one proposal to discontinue a degree program and a second proposal to discontinue a major. Members will also vote on bylaw and regulation amendments.

Although each department and School has formal voting representation to the Assembly, all members of the Academic Senate are welcome to attend. In the spirit of shared governance, I encourage you to do so.

To ensure the integrity and security of the meeting, it is important for all attendees to RSVP for the Legislative Assembly Meeting.
